web design: fixed price
You will have noticed reference to my web design being done as 'fixed price'; there are certain restrictions that I must place on this, to make this a viable proposition and to ensure fairness to all of my customers.
- Initial consultation is free
- initial consultation is non-chargeable and will be used to determine your requirements
- most initial consultations are done via email and over the phone to minimise costs to both parties
- during the initial consultation I will ascertain as much information as I can about what you want from the web site
- at the end of the consultation I will know whether I am able to help you with your web site
- Assuming I am able to help, I will produce a summary document outlining your requirements for:
- number of pages
- functionality required
- design ideas
- amount of bespoke graphic design required
- The document forms the basis of the fixed price work, and will be accompanied with the quotation for the work (not an estimate, the quotation).
- You are invited to:
- review and feedback on the document (I will amend, reissue the document and - if necessary - the quotation)
- confirm acceptance of the quotation
- Provided the web site design does not vary from the contents of the document, what I quoted you, is what you pay.
- if you ask for changes which alter the quotation I will alert you to this fact, before undertaking any design changes
- I will not simply forge on and then present you with an unexpected bill.
